Smart bomb KAB-500S-E with satellite guidance and HE warhead is a high-precision fire-and-forget aircraft weapon. It is designed for round-the-clock all-weather engagement of ground and water surface targets such as munitions depots, industrial facilities, ships at berths, etc. It destroys predetermined targets and targets whose position is fed into the flight mission during captive flight before the bomb is dropped. Typical carriers are fighters and attack aircraft of Su-24M, Su-34, Su-35, MiG-35 types. |

The Zagon-1 | ||
The Zagon-1 (index S3V) anti-submarine air bomb is
designed to engage submarines on sea surface, under periscope and
under water cruising at down to 600-m depths. The air bomb can be effectively employed in splash-down water areas at least 150-m deep, at Sea States up to 6, in any region of the world ocean. It is best of all suited for combat employment in fiords, bays and similar areas where efficiency of other types of guided weapons is limited. When dropped against underwater targets the bomb descends on the parachute released at the moment of the bomb’s splash-down. The bomb then sinks down under gravitational g-force and at the same time is steered towards the target by active sonar target location and bomb motion control system. The S3V Zagon-1 anti-submarine air bomb is a very attractive “cost-effective” solution - rather inexpensive thanks to simple manufacturing technology and operational robustness (it does not require special technical maintenance or testing when in storage). Yet its combat effectiveness is several times higher compared with that of conventional anti-submarine bombs. The S3V anti-submarine guided bomb is unified for combat use from Tu-142/Il-38 type antisubmarine warfare aircraft, and helicopters of Ka-28 and other types. |

KAB-500 (1500) FAMILY
The KAB-500Kr is designed to engage stationary ground/surface small-sized hardened targets, such as reinforced concrete shelters, runways, railway and highway bridges, military industrial installations, warships, and transport vessels.
The KAB-500-OD is designed to engage ground targets, such as fire emplacements, and manpower hidden in mountainous terrains.
The KAB-1500Kr is designed to engage various stationary ground/surface small-sized hardened targets, such as reinforced concrete shelters, military industrial installations, depots, and seaport terminals.
The KAB-500Kr, KAB-500-OD, KAB-1500Kr air bombs are fitted with TV/terrain-matching homing heads and various types of warheads. TV homers with target data processing correlation algorithm can “remember” target location and correct bomb’s flight trajectory until the impact on the target, thus realizing the “fire and forget” principle. Such homing heads can help defeat low-contrast and masked targets provided that terrain reference points and target coordinates related to them are available. The KAB-500Kr, KAB-500-OD, KAB-1500Kr corrected air bombs make part of weapon systems of such front-line aircraft types as Su-27, Su-30, Su-34, Su-24M, MiG-29, and others.
